Vacation Planning Information

Plan an Oregon Vacation

Rogue River Country is here to help you plan a vacation to Oregon. We are aware many of you know little about where to visit on your Oregon Vacation or when the best times are to be here. We will help you sort out these things and more.

We will start with a few thoughts about how to get to Oregon. It sounds like a no brainer but how you arrive and where gives us a starting point. There are two basic ways of coming to Oregon one is by air travel and renting a car. The other is by automobile of some sort.

Air Travel will be coming into Portland or Medford, Oregon. Portland is on the Northern end of Oregon and our planned vacation trips are in the Southern part of Oregon. Medford (MFR) is our airport of choice for our Oregon Vacation arrivals, or you may choose to rent a car and drive the 5.5 hours from Portland. If you do this would change the order of your Oregon Vacation stops to get you to and from the Portland Airport the most expedient way.

Southern Oregon is much less densely populated than the Willamette Valley and the Portland area. 2/3 of Oregon's 3.3 million people live in a 6th of the State. Most of these live in the Portland Metro area, Salem Metro area and Eugene / Springfield Metro Area. we are 172 miles south of the nearest of these population areas. If you choose to arrive by automobile you would most likely enter Oregon on Interstate 5 either on the North or on the South. The South entrance is only 30 miles from Medford, Oregon.

For Rogue River Country to do a exceptional job for you we need to have you take a trip through Rogue River Country Website and make notes of activities or areas you would like to visit on your Oregon Vacation. We will need to know about your Oregon Vacation interests.
